OK, all you guys that are FNF fishing have got me curious about trying this out.

Totally new to it altogether and need a list of the basics I need to buy in order to do this. So can someone step up to the plate and give me a list of items I need. I did see the FNF Kit on the FNF web site for like 39.99, came with two floats, 12 flies, and a couple of other items.

With all my spare time I would love to learn to tie my own flies, but need a list of that stuff as well.

Willing to learn, cause I hate staring at these walls every day with nothing to do when it's cold outside. My back will only let me do so much due to the pain level I am in 24/7..... Plus the meds I take keep me almost constantly at home.

If you could make it to Lexington for a hour or two sometime, I could show you my set up. I pour my own lead, for F-N-F jigs as well as Poision tail bass jigs and others. I work with silicone skirts, Buck tail, Feather, craft hair, well you get it. I would be pleased to show you what I Know, And if we could get Shadrap in on this, It would even more informative. I have a 9.6 bps fnf rod and a 10ft model ultra light rod. My reels are wide spool models, and not top end, they only store the line, you can do that for under 50 bucks, and twofifty for a fishing rod? When I'm casting with jigs or hard baits yesa quality does count somewhat, but not for a form of still fishing, what fnf basically is.When my eye sight started to bother me, all my molds and hair, and mylar, and flashaboo went on ebay. I got enough to buy enough jigs for a couple of years. I enjoyed pouring and tying, but when it turned into a pain, adios. I figured my cost for a home made 1/16 oz jig at about 15 cents, not counting time, larger ones ran about 20cents, still no time involved. If you still want to make your own, try the synthetic hairs from cabelas or net craft, they are as fine as maribou, and much easier to tie,the synthetic tinsel works fine also.

went to cumberland today, disaster! FNF is not the best way to go when fighting wind. Plus the sky cleared and the fishing was almost impossible. Got three SMB monday using tubes, and one hit today on a spin rite, that got off because of the wind and billowing line. Maybe saturday. Tommorow! cumberland river, 1/16 oz. jigs, and maybe lighter winds. The trout sure like those beaver tail plastics any color will do, as long as its some shade of brown!
