She happened upon a technique that is used while fishing saltwater/brackish water for trout and reds. They use a popping cork just for the noise...she sounds like a natural! This past summer, I asked for tips on fishing for bluegills on the bigger lakes and many of you responded..thanks for your advice. The 2 girls (10 and 7) had a total ball and can't wait to go again. There was one really funny thing that happened that all of you will love. Toward evening, We were fishing by a wall and a bass fisherman came around us and chatted a few seconds and started throwing a zara spook. Well, the 10 yr old watched him real close for a few minutes and started asking questions - whats he doing? Why is he jerking his rod and making his " food" make noise.. stuff like that. A few minutes later I look over and she is working her bobber like a jerk bait! I started laughing... until she jerked back , water erupts and lo and behold a massive 12" hog LM! She lands it herself, removes the hookherself and just smiled, of couse I was laughing so hard I couldn't breathe! That will always be one of my favorite things that has ever happened fishing..... now maybe I should get me a bobber with a wax worm and............... so if you see a bobber jerking bass fisherman don't laugh too hard, it worked for her!![]()
She has good observational skill and picks up on stuff quickly. That method is very effective on bass.
