I'll run about 70 yards on a reel and fish it for a season, then pull that line off with another reel and it's like new line only on a different reel. This way I can get 2 seasons on 70 yards and with the price of that stuff every bit helps.

How long will this line last, when should it be replaced?

I have read every 2-3 years and have pretty much done that. If you use smaller #test Power Pro then I would change it more often. I don't use my rod with the Power Pro as much as before so with the lack of use and high #test I'll keep it for years.![]()
A couple of hints about using this great line. No matter the knot you use (palomar or clinch) I recommend whipping a couple of overhand knots on top. Use mono backing (with a double uni-knot) on your reel intead of filling the reel with it to prevent slippage. My hook up ratio with buzz baits has increased considerably using Power Pro.
It is #8 and on the float n fly reels.
I would think being a FNF reel that you could get several years out of it and as Worm1 mentioned reverse the line and use the newer line on the bottom of the reel when you feel it's time. I have done the same in the past and also use a mono backing.
I think when you use this line for C-rigging or Jigs and such you wear the line out quicker with the constant bottom bouncing. JMO![]()
