    Re: Which One

I'd pick the Ranger Z19 over the Triton anyday for the ride it has in rough water. I've fished too many times out of the back of a TR to ever want a Triton...there's just no comparison. I will admit that the latest and greatest from Triton with their X2 series is a lot better that the TRs, but they still aren't near as good of a boat as a Ranger! Of course, this is just my opinion...

I have a tr186 and am very pleased with it. The two guys I fish with a lot both have rangers. One is a 18'6" and the other is a 20'. Both boats are quality boats that are great to fish out of. The rangers are heavier and are a bit more solid in the water than my Triton. The Triton is great in other areas like speed and it rides higher than the Rangers which sometimes alows me to get places that they can't. In my opinon either boat would be great as long as they are mechanically solid and not worn out.

I've owned a Skeeter, Nitro, and now a 196 Triton with a 200hp Opti-Max on it. As far as boats, they are both nice. But as far as overall riding comfort, can't beat a triton. I've been beat to death by rangers crossing rough water and nothing compares to the ride of my triton. My boat will run 77MPH and handles rough water with ease, if you know how to drive a boat in the first place. Knowing how to handle rough water is one of the biggest factors in choosing the boat you want.

Rangers are too over priced in my opinion and that is one of the least reasons why I would not own one. I've had several friends who own Rangers ride with me and are amazed at how the boat handles in rough water and the overall ride itself in a Triton.

So you need to really go and try our both boats to see which one you really think you can drive the safest and go with your gut feeling. A lot of Ranger owners and Triton owners are going to give their opinions on which boat is best. But the overall choice will be yours. Plus you need to look at the distance from your house to the dealer, make sure you have a dealer close by for mechanical problems that might arise.

Good Luck with your choice and check out Anglers Outpost Marine their a Triton Dealer. This is the place I bought mine from in 2005.

I have ridden in Mill's boat, and I'll have to say, it rides like a Cadillac. That is one sweet boat.
