    Smile FnF

Hello. I'm new to the board. I've been interested in fnf for a couple of years. Been fnfing a couple of times. Personally haven't had luck. Still a rookie at it. I guess allways a rookie, keeps a person humble. I'm looking for a partner to go (lost my partner due to differences). I have the gear. I'll even do the towing, if needed. Pay half the trip (room etc.) Just been chomping at the bit to go and learn. Is there any takers that are looking for a partener-pupil? I live in Louisville. Safety is allways key, esp. this time of year. I can be contacted here, at my email address: [email protected], or by phone: 502-216-5294.

Welcome to the board my friend. I have yet to try the FNF myself as well, but in the process of getting all the stuff to try it out. But do to the cold I can't really get out as much with a really bad back and all. But there are a lot of guys on this board that do FNF. Maybe some of them can hook up with you and go. Most of them just need an invitation to go most of the time. Good Luck and maybe soon you'll catch a nice one on the FNF.

Heck, on Sunday I tried the FNF on and off for hours and finally toward the end of the day it started working and it happened fast. I guess we just got into a school of them so I learned to be patient and to watch that float for any little change. A wiggle, laying over, moving slowly away or whatever usually means something is mouthing it. Good luck with it and welcome to the site!

FnF is beginning to be my favorite type of fishing. Man, when you hook a smallmouth on that long rod with the light line, you're in for a long battle. It's addictive.

Thanks for the words of encouragement. I have the basic idea of FNF. I have a smaller boat that is fine with fishing creeks at the lakes I fish at. I guess I'm looking for a partener with a bigger boat to travel to lakes like Cumberland or even Dale Hollow. I'm hooked on the technique. I've seen 3 trophie smallies caught on it.

Thanks for the reply. From personal experience, I didn't have much luck in the drinks around here. Doesn't mean anything, though. I've boughten all the gear a person needs to do it with, my boat is a liitle small to fish lakes like Cumberland or Dale Hollow, that's why I posted a thread. With gas prices like thay are, a trip gets pretty expensive. I am hoping that I could find a person that wouldn't mind splitting trips to lakes like that. I have posted my contact info on the original thread. Would like to talk to you about the possibility.

You may find that your boat doesn't need to be quite as big to fish lakes like Cumberland in the winter because there is basically nobody else on the lake. Unless you get caught in a sudden heavy wind, it's not too bad.
