FnF near Louisville?

Man I'm convinced that any water can be FNF water. My fish this weekend were in 10ft of water around brush and my fly was at about 7ft. JMO plus I'm just a beginner at this..

I tried FNF for a few hours on Taylorsville. Never had one bite,pulldown etc. etc. I tried points,in the mouths of the bigger creeks and also around the marina and slips. No takers.
I am sure FNF will work just about anywhere. I feel the water has to be fairly clear to slight stained to work its' best.
I am going to keep trying new places.
