Just got word my favorite and last uncle passed away this morning. This was a guy who loved all fishing. A blue gill was as important to him as a northern pike. We had some nice trips together, and even though he didn't know all the finer points of the game, he enjoyed it with all his heart. Sitting on a bucket, fishing through 15 inches of ice, was just as much fun as a warm sunny day in may.
a great guy, little league coach, loving grandfather, and good fishing buddy, who never complained when they weren't biting, and couldn't keep from smiling when he reeled a fish upto the eye on my favorite fishing rod. Going to miss you Tony.

Sorry to hear of your loss Larry. My best fishing partner was my brother,he died this year of prostate cancer.Man i have alot of storys of good fishing and other foolishness i can share with my sons and his.I take some comfort in that.On those awesome days whan i cant keep a fish off my hook i wish he was there but i cant help to think he might be helping me somehow and smiling. And those times when someone drops me off at the ramp and i step in knee deep water cant help but think hes the one who moved the boat back a foot without me realizing it.Thoughts and memories will always keep him alive in you and the people you share with.
My uncle and his wife were die hard cub fans. In 2003. when the cubbies almost reached the big show, their kids bought them both official cub jerseys, they wore those things right up till that yahoo touched that foul ball that ended our chances. The next year his wife was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer. She arranged all of her funeral, and her last demand was she wanted to be buried in her cub jersey, tacky! no! Well my cousin informed me that tony will wear his cub shirt to the great beyound. I have told my kids the one thing I'd like to see, and i have seen many things, is the cubbies in the world series, my cub jersey may not fit, but it also will go with me. The shed of fishing tackle, two boats will go to my son. What ever is left is not my concern. but the cub shirt is final!!!!!!!!! Tony saw the last cub world series.
I am sorry for your loss, my wife lost a first cousin this week he was four years younger than her, She is from Louisiana from a small town where everyone is related some how. They had a tradition of Family BBQs every sunday afternoon while they were growing up. so they were all like brothers and sisters. There are no words to ease the pain and that is the way it should be I feel. It seems the good memories are sweeter after you let yourself grieve and know your loved ones are all ready Home and waiting on the rest of us to catch up. Your in our prayers tonight. but I have a feeling you were blessed just by having this man in your family, take his love and spread it with your heart now. It sounds like that is what he would want you to do.
