Ky PIt---Don't have any spots to give out. Really don't have much knowledge about Herrington and have only fished it a few times. I remember last simmer fishing around the island- I think Gwen Island was the name, where the marina owner had cut a bunch of trees down. Several of which were in water from the bank to 10' before dropping off to the deep water.
I was wondering if the boat docks were good places to fish.
My cousin hit Herrington this 2 days ago (Friday). He caught 15 crappie and a 2 pound spot. I think he was out for an hour or two. Caught all on jigs up near the dam... The key to catching them on Herrington, IMO, is to fish the clearer water and follow the bait. They seem to relate to bait more than cover on that lake. Watching your graph for bait is everything!!!
Merry Christmas to y'all...
Thanks smljaw,I've always fished the cover and not really baitfish. Also I've never fished that far up on herrington.....maybe that would turn my luck around on that dang lake..I've never done well there but know people that have,so I know they are there.Just a matter of finding them pesky specks...lol Ya'll have a MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY NEW YEAR..hopefully the weather will be better and the fishing...... Chad
