Bump.
I don't know anything about fishing Dale. However, if anybody out there does, you'd be wise to take newriver up on his offer. I've read alot about that place and it seems to be some awsome, I mean awsome, smallmouth fishing.

This is for anyone who is willing to help. I spend a little time in central Ky over the holidays and absolutly struck out yesterday on Dale. Only caught one largemouth. So I am offering a paid guided trip on the New River in West Virginia for smallmouth for some on the water help over next weekend. Anyone willing to help and trade trips PM me. For information on the guided trip PM me and I'll give the website and talk to you about it. If no takers please post guides for general lake pattern trips. thanks

I would talk to the folks at the Dale Hollow One Stop in Celina if you are near it. Beyond that right now the lake is rising a small bit. Smalllmouth will hold at 10 to 15feet deep and also at 20 to 25 feet deep.
Reason for this is Threadfin Shad and Alewife.
Threadfin stay shallower and Alewife will stay deeper.
We use the Float and fly method of fishing for the 10 to 15 foot deep fish..
to learn float and fly go to www.FloatandFly.com and read how to rig and to fish it.
Bluff walls and main lake points above First Island are great places to fish. The area around First Island has a lot of great places to fish. Steep banks where the fish feel comfortable whent he lake is dropping would be the best now.
