    Fishing pole question

I am buying a new pole to go with the Abu Garcia Revo SX that I am getting. Does anyone have any suggetsions on poles? Also what does the IM-6 or 7 or whatever stand for?

    Thanks for any help

IM-6 and 7 are the Graphite content in the rod. For the Best go with IM-8 to 10 for fishing soft plastics or Jigs. Cranks or Spinnerbaits IM-7 is ok.

I will be mainly using it for spinner baits, cranks and maybe some top water.

Lok at Castaway Rods. They have a line of rods for around $60 for that are pretty good rods. And the standard graphite line runs about $120. The long range launcher is a crankbait rod but can be used for most everthing. 7ft 6in and it is telescopic. Carolina Honey Rig iis anothe rod that can handle most everthing, get it in medium action for all-purpose. The amount of graphite may not be as important as is the process of rolling the rod. Scrim would be of more importance. Check with a custom rod builder site for more info. The more graphite does not always mean better. The whole process of making a rod has to be taken into consideration. Shop around there are several brands that are very good.

How much money are you looking to spend? Shimano has great rods at a reasonable price.

I really like St. Croix. They have several different levels of rods and prices. I have never had a problem out of them, and they have a good warrantee. I also have some BPS and All-Star rods that I love.
