merc 150 xr6

Thinking of getting a merc 150 xr6 and would like to have feedback on the fuel usage of it.

I have an Opti 150 and love it, the gas mileage is great, and it will easily save you money in the long run.

Another vote for the Optimax especially if you plan to keep it a while. No telling what gas could be in a year or so. Crude got close to $100 a barrel yesterday, so who knows.

I have an 150 xr6 and I think it is the most durable motor made. The opti will get better gas but if you pick your foot up just a little and run it about 4000 rpm's it gets fair milage but wide open you cant pour it in fast enough. I have a 18.5 foot procraft and it will run about 60 wide open with the xr6.

I will agree with catchemall on the durability of this motor. I've got an 01 model and have had zero problems with it. The fuel mileage could be better but oh well, you can't have it all I've been told.
