hummin bird side scan problems

i purchased a 997 and a 917 back in the fall, the side scan unit produced unbelieveable detail and i was very impressed, with the interlink, i was able to chart with the 997 and get directions for trolling on the front mounted 917 but now both my 997 and my 917 have failed and are being sent back to hummin bird

both failed due to moisture, the 917's buttons were hard to push and the screen froze everytime i cranked the motor,(fresh battery, good connections, 2 fuses, and no voltage surge) just a bum unit

they are in the process of fixing these items and sending them back, i hope none have you have had the same problems

Have you posted over at the Yahoo Side Imaging Group? The Humminbird guys are on the board very frequently and might be able to give some advice on whether this is an on-going problem. Of course, you have to register before posting. HTH.
