    Alcohol or hydrogen peroxide works the best because it wont leave any residue like soap will and there will be no scent left on it.

    rubbing alcohol is w/o a doubt the best!

    Alcohol. Just drink several ounces of bourbon and you don't care if your cork handles are dirty. Or use Mr Clean eraser.

    Is there any way to switch from the sponge handles to cork handles?
    Kind of like replacing the grips on a golf club.

    find a place who sells rod building supplies and buy the cork,cut off the sponge and glue the cork on.i think you have to measure the diameter of the rod blank.

    Not sure how store bought cork comes packaged. Is it split or would you slide it up the handel?
