    Favorite plastics for Carolina rig

Just curious what everyone likes to use on their C-Rig. I change mine up about every year, but keep going back to the zoom lizzards. I am looking to try some new things out, so any suggestions?

Also I have read several articles about using crankbaits or plugs/minnow baits on a c-rig, has anyone ever tried this?

I've tried a C-rigged suspending jerkbait with some success, particularly in 50-55 degree water temps.

Pre-spawn--Baby brush hogs or finesse worms.....post spawn--4" senko type bait, finesse worm or paca craws in rocks.....summer--brush hog, 7-12"lizard or finesse worm on tough bites--late summer-early fall--baby brush hog or fluke type baits.

I've always had my best luck with Berkley power lizards and worms. 10-12 inch. Clouds-black/blue and sun clear water pumpkin/chrt. especially in the spring on Ky. Lake. Hard or suspending sounds like a good idea I'll defenitly give a whirl. Have played with swim bait grub lures with no success. Love to Carolina fish. Seems you are more in tune with your lure. Tech

I like a green pumpkin baby brush hog or wild thing jr. w/chtrs dipped tail and the berkley beast. These baits are small enough to make hook penetration easy even on the really long casts. Used to fish braid w/a fluoro leader. Switched to co-polymer after fishing with Mr. Stewart. I broke off two fish c-riggin w/the braid and then he explained why he uses co-polymer. I switched immediately after returning home and have yet to break off with the copolymer line w/fluoro leader. The combination of the brush, rocks, and egg sinker were really chewing through the braid. Copolymer must really be that much more abrasion resistant or just slides through better.

I really like my new Floating Tube in either Black w/ Blue Flakes or the Smoke with Red Flakes.... These babies will float off the bottom as far as your leader is while using a 5/0 Gama Hook. If they start to sink, just pull the tube away from itself on both ends and it'll refill with air.
