Talked to a pro just back from G-ville

Ran into a flw pro ( said his name, never heard of him, from Ohio) He stopped by Guntersville on his way back from Florida (picked up his new ranger from his sponsor, very nice!) Fished for 3 days had a whopping total of 3 fish. 1 on a red trap, 2 very small ones in the river on a jig. Said it was miserable. No bites in the grass at all. He said that he did catch some down at ocachobie while trying out the boat. thought you all might be interested.

Will be my first time as well. Was looking at maybe getting a guide the first day down. Not sure yet.

The second week in March should be hotter than a firecracker as far as fishing is concerned. Water should be creeping into the low 60's if everythings normal. Should be a bunch of fat females shallow , real shallow feeding up getting ready to spawn. Guntersville is the most awesome lake I have ever fished. You still have to find them and then catch them but its like nothing Ive ever seen when you really find them. We have had alot of luck on traps and spinnerbaits, leave your little sissy shakey heads and spinning reals at home, the bass down there use that stuff for toothpicks . Good luck on your trips hope you get into them really good. Jarrod
