1st, what is the best knot to use for fluorocarbon, and the best knot for braid. Secondly, the braided line you see that is bright yellow, will this effect the number of bites you get, since it is so visible, or is it not as visible under the water? Thanks for the help.

Have to disagree with Mark and say the improved clinch is better for flouro. Wet the line and pull the knot tight slowly.
Can't help much with braid knots, only time I use braid is dragging a frog/rat at Guntersville. I've used a non-improved clinch without breaking off down there.
I've been told the color doesn't matter much unless it's really heavy line, but I wouldn't use yellow unless it was for catfishing.
You know Jim I use the P-line flouro-clear alot and it's a co-poylmer, kind of a hybrid I guess. It's worked good for me on that but now that you mention it on PURE flourocarbon I will tie an improved and double improved clinch as the palomar will slip or break at knot area. My bad I should have been more specific. All that said the flouro coated lines I've had no issues with the palomar.Have to disagree with Mark and say the improved clinch is better for flouro. When I was watching Bass Pros once there was a guy named Terry who was jig-fishing with Stacy King, and they were using fluoro, and the knot he used was what I guess you'd call an "improved Trilene" knot. He ran it through the eye twice, up around the line 3 times, the back through the loops, just like a Trilene knot, but instead of cinching it up at that point, he ran it back through the loop one more time, then cinched it up. I like this knot a lot, especially for lighter applications.
I use that improved trilene knot with Floro with no problems. You really need to make sure to wet this knot before cinching it, or the line will burn itself making it pretty week. I have found most knots work good with Floro as long as you wet it and cinch it slow.
Palomar is the best knot for braid. It seems to be the easiest to tie with braid also.
Absolutely right on wetting the knot, and that bears repeating. Slobber all over that sumbuck, or you'll abrade the line as you cinch it up. If it's kinky right above the knot, you've abraded it, and need to re-tie. I've gotten in the habit of always wetting any fishing knot I tie in any kind of line before I cinch it up, and I don't think that's a bad practice. Might not make much difference with some lines, but I don't think it hurts.
