Can't help much with braid knots, only time I use braid is dragging a frog/rat at Guntersville. I've used a non-improved clinch without breaking off down there.

I've been told the color doesn't matter much unless it's really heavy line, but I wouldn't use yellow unless it was for catfishing.
You know Jim I use the P-line flouro-clear alot and it's a co-poylmer, kind of a hybrid I guess. It's worked good for me on that but now that you mention it on PURE flourocarbon I will tie an improved and double improved clinch as the palomar will slip or break at knot area. My bad I should have been more specific. All that said the flouro coated lines I've had no issues with the palomar.
