Absolutely right on wetting the knot, and that bears repeating. Slobber all over that sumbuck, or you'll abrade the line as you cinch it up. If it's kinky right above the knot, you've abraded it, and need to re-tie. I've gotten in the habit of always wetting any fishing knot I tie in any kind of line before I cinch it up, and I don't think that's a bad practice. Might not make much difference with some lines, but I don't think it hurts.
