Thanks Geofisher:
Looks like you guys are really outdoor fishing enthusiasts. I am glad you posted the link to your web site and pictures. I enjoyed looking at them the other day while it was freezing cold outside.
I am not that familiar with that area in Minnesota and had to get the map out. I then got sidetracked into looking at the GIS maps of the neighborhood where I live. LOL after that I lost track of your web site.
I would do good with the TV show that use to be on Public TV channel 9. It was called "Connections" I believe. It would cover one subject and find a link to a totally different subject which as related by just one word or link. The program talked about everything and was fun to watch.
Like for example at your web site I could easily go from fishing to buying a canoe or cooking fish to eat. From there I could talk about plastic vs metal or wood canoes. And from wood I could get into how they cut the tree down that was used to make the canoe. And then from how the made the chain saw that they use to cut the trees down. Or how they made the gasoline that was put into the chain saw that was used to cut the tree down that was use to make the canoe which was used on your camping trip. LOL
It seems that everything is connected to everything else. Sort of like some of the tread in here and other forums. After a few post the tread wanders off to who knows where.
Bring it back home though I really enjoyed seeing the pictures of your trip. Looks like you all get along great. I worked a few place where the people at work with go out to recreate together after work all the time. We all have a lot of fun together back in those day. We still have a reunion from time to time. We use to do a lot of water skiing and swimming but no one else fished other than me. Bummer. Had a few of the group that liked to hunt so that was good. But we all liked to camp out and did a lot of camping at the lake where we all worked as lifeguards together. We have many a camp out and cookout at the lake. Did a lot of swimming at night in the hot summer months and of course we all would go out to eat together. Our favorite thing to say while waiting to get seated is "Wow you sure look different with all your cloths on" !. Meaning that we all wore swim suits all day long at work and we all showed a lot of skin all day long. So we all looked much different when we dressed up to go out at night. The person seating us always had this strange look on their face when they heard us talking like that. LOL
And when a bunch of us EMT/Firefighters use to go out to eat together we would get to telling stories about our runs and some people didn't have the same attitude about accident scenes and fire runs that we have. We were sort of use to talking about blood and guts and it didn't bother us to sit down to eat and talk about a run we just made. While other restaurant patrons were soon moving to other tables or leaving! LOL I guess talking about a blood rescue made them sick while trying to eat. But we were so used to it that it didn't even phase us.
The point is getting together with the people you work with is fun and can really help develop some close relationships that last a lifetime.
Friends doing things together makes for a better friendship.
I envy you guys up there in Minnesota camping and getting out from the hectic life styles most of us have to work under.
What do you all do for a living?
