Lowrance Question...please help.

I recently purchased a lms 332c without an antenna. If i purchase a new 520 with an external antenna, can i run both units off the same antenna? Would it interfer with anything?

Yes I believe you can but the units will have to be networked together. Go to the lowrance website and you can research what you need to do. Also you could call tech support and they will explain it to you. If you have a basic wiring understanding its very simple.

Go to Bass boat Central and go to the installing the GPS units. There it will show you a diagram of how to hook both unit up to share the one external antenna. After you get both units hooked up and your antenna is receiving info from the satellites . You will need to go into the GPS Setup and click on the synchronize blocks so that they will work with each other from one location.

I'm in the process of doing the same thing. I consulted Lowrance and found out a few things. First the LMS 520 will not work with the LGC 2000 GPS receiver that comes with the 332. You have to use the LGC 3000 receiver that comes with the 520 and buy an adapter cable to network the 332 with the new receiver. The adapter costs approx $25. Clear as mud?????
You can order the adapter from LEI extras. Google it to get the number.

thanks alot guys for all your help! i found a guy who has a 520 that purchased it this past summer and im getting it for 500.00. If everything works right i should have less than 800.00 in both units. SO your pretty sure i could run the 332 off of the antenna that comes with the 520?

I'm positive. I called Lowrance and LEI extras about it. I had a 332 at my console and bought a LCX-113C. I'm now moving the 332 to the bow and hooking them up to the same receiver that came with the 113 (LGC3000) I had to buy the adapter cable. I'm gonna have to check, I may need to buy an extension for the doubleT that ties the units to the receiver. If you have to buy it it'll probably run approx $25. I plan on installing my 332 today so I'll let you know.
