My Bass Club is going to have a 2 day tourny on Laurel Lake in late march.
I have never been on the lake and was hoping for some tips. Any lake info or areas that will be worth checking out? Any good maps out there?
anything will help.

Fishin' Hotspots makes the standard map for Laurel.
Try staying in the marsh branch area. some really good brownfish in there right now. don't think of laurel as your typical lake, she is a tough one to crack in the best of fishing conditions. don't look to shallow for those brownfish they will suspend at times as deep as 40 ft. silver buddies, float and flies if your familiar with it, and some spoons should be about all you need right now. i've only been on her a couple of times this winter but fish the marsh branch area and towards holly bay and you should be able to get a few brownfish. good luck.
I agree with everything dcbasser says and I agree it seems the smallies do tend to suspend in deep water. If you think you are fishing deep and not getting bit, go deeper. Also downsizing your lures and sloooow down will help alot.
FLw pro david walker said laurel was the toughest lake he has ever fished on.......Fish shouldnt be that hard to find at this time tho. alot of fish should be shallow at this time. Just make long casts and use light line or flourocarbon. I fish laurel pretty much weekly......
This help TY!
I am going to order the map right away and see if I find some area's that stick out to me.
The water in late march will still be cold, so I will focus on drop off's and deep ledges....might be the way to go.....
Thanks, I will see if I have other questions when I get my map!
