A little trick I learned a long time ago is to use just plain old brown jersey gloves, they are cheap and they are warm. I carry several pairs with me as they will get wet. I cut a slit longways in the thumb just above where it is sewn to the glove which lets me stick my thumb out for using baitcasting gear and it does not hamper the ability to cast and when not using a baitcaster, just pull your thumb inside and let it thaw out. You can do the same for the first finger to use spinning gear and works well...Just thought I would share. Keep your lines tight and your eyes open
