What to do, what to do?

I've got the fishing fever already, but I just can't decide what to do. I just acquired a new fishing hole I have been wanting to try for bass, but i have several other options with the weekend coming up. What would you do if you were in my shoes, and keep in mind, it is supposed to be COLD this weekend. I could:

Fish the new lake for bass and see if it holds any crappie as well

take the boat to Rough river and crappie fish

Go to the river and try my luck at the sauger

Go to some local ponds and try to catch a mess of bluegill

Which one sounds best to you?

Talking Re: What to do, what to do?

With the weather forecast calling for a high/low Saturday of 23/17 and 28/22 on Sunday, I might try out the local ponds OR STAY IN AND read fishing mags, surf the internet or study my fishing maps and plan my next fishing trip, hoping for slightly milder fishing weather by next weekend. Definitely don't think I would want to be on the river or any large lakes.

Best of luck in what ever you decide to do,

    Gary

I just can't bring myself to stay in. I also have a brand new pair of windproof/waterproof coveralls that are just begging to get tested out. For the next 6 months I will be in school, and I have a good schedule that allows me some prime fishing time, so I am trying to take advantage of it.

Hit the new hole and get an idea about the place. Spring is just around the corner.

I'd go to the swap meet at Cave City. Always a big crowd and some real sweet deals!

I'd go to the local pond if you can catch bluegill. That way when you realize it's too freakin' cold to be out there you can be home with a hot toddy before too long

Re: What to do, what to do?

The river is still a bit high for my taste, monday it should be fishable from the bank.

Your pond/lake may be frozen over a bit, but I have "broken" out some places with a 2 oz. sinker and done really well this time of year.

I was thinkin of gettin out myself
