Caloosahatchee River Ft. Myers

I will be coming to Florida ( From KY,March 6-13) and planned on fishing Alligator Alley, but I am considering fishing this River, since it is closer to where I will be staying in Naples. Is there a good population of Bass and what methods of fishing do you recommend? Any info is greatly appreciated. I have looked at the map of the river and will probably fish starting at the lock close to Olga and then go East towards the Big "O". 15-20 miles or so. Clewiston is closest part of Okeechobee to us.

Yes, Clewiston would be the closest. I think if we are going to get that double digit fish the big "o" and the river is the place to do it. Fishing at alligator would be mostly numbers in amount of fish caught. We should fish this area first and see how it goes, Day 2 fish the Alley and decide between the two for day 3. Unless we just whack them in the river the first day, then you know we will be back there on day 2. "It's just fun...................."
