You can rent Jon boats (at least you could years ago) at Toho Marina which is right next to the main ramp for West Lake Toho.... downtown Kissimmee. That side of the lake is where alot of big Bassmaster tournies have been won over the recent years. If you can get a boat get out early and throw your favorite topwater in and around the weeds/pads and watch for hydrilla that is a foot or two below the surface (usually a sweet spot). I love to throw Zoom Horny Toads (white or watermelon seed) and Zoom Super Flukes in the same color around the weeds/pads. Once the sun gets up I start flippin the heavy weeds and mats (hard to say what it looks like right now). You will be fishing in 7ft of water or less most of the time even as little as 2ft. Watch for anything moving in the weeds and cast those soft plastics. I hope this helps some...If you have ever fished a weedy lake you should feel at home.
Oh yeah....
Firetiger shallow running crankbaits and chrome blue rattletraps were always good to us around the mouth of the Shingle Creek and Goblits Cove.
