float and fly

I see alot about the float and fly. I was wondering what is the best way to rig it and what is best parts to use to rig it. How do you work it. Is it only go this time of year or can it be used year round. i see most are using it for smallmouth, does it work to catch bass also or other fish. All info greatly appreciated. thx.

I just read alot on the floatandfly.com and one of the best recomendations was to use fish dope to slick the hair back on the jig. A vasaline type product. From the people that I have talked to this makes all the difference in the world.
