at least i am not the only one that thinks that about loomis... i would much rather spend my money on the all-star or shimano and get 2 of them for what i can pay for one loomis

How many of the cheaper rods come with a lifetime warranty? Most breaks in rods (high modulus) occur because of neglect it only takes a hard knock to break the fibers which will lead to a broken rod down the road

That is right, with a very sensitive rod, you have to take a little care of it. Do no let your bait hang from it while running down the lake or sitting in the rod box. The Mossy back rods are a little stronger than the GLX with the finish they have. Take a rod in the store and hold the tip and see what it will take... with the bronzeback series of rods they are built to withstand side runs as well as downward runs. With all the custom rods what is the warranty and how long to get one back? Make sure where you buy it they will take care of you on the warranty, most of you box stores will give you the address to send it and your talking another 30 bucks or so. just my two cents.
I have 2 GLX's, 3 Mossybacks, 2 Bronzebacks, 2 crankbait rods and a spinnerbait rod all from G-Loomis and never broke one in 4 years of use.

I have 2 IMX MB843 7' MH and both are excellent rods. I use them for both jigs and soft plastic. You won't be sorry. I made the switch from Falcon to Loomis and there is no comparison. Ryan

i own 4 glx's 2 gl3's and a gl2 i got a matching set of the glx bronzeback med 6'9 spinning rods and i love them i use one for shakyheads and the other one for worm fishing i got 2 matchin 6' 8" baitcasting glx rods and i wouldnt have anything but a g loomis but like the guy said above me i have broke 3 of the glx's already but at backwaters its 20 dollars to get a new one and loomis will ship u one anywhere in the us overnight for 50 if u break one and u are out on the lake so.... but i broke all mine when i was pickin up a bait and got drilled and i had to set the hook with the rod high in the air.. everyone makes a good rod it just depends on how much u wanna pay for it.....

This is true, Shimano does own G-Loomis but that is about as far as it goes, G-loomis are still made in the US in Washington like always, while all Shimano are made over seas. G-loomis is still managed and operated the same, succesful way it has been for 25 years.

With that said, you should at least look at St. Croix as well, they are a great rod, The Avid series is nice and the Legend Tournament is a very nice rod. Made in the US with a Lifetime warranty.

ill second what said about Tims rods MsgMills i took an allstar over to him to get fixed and picked up one of his and put an order in right then and like you said it was the lightest rods ive ever held on to Tims rods will be the only ones i buy from now on

I'm going to tell you all something...I know a guy in Shively, KY. who sells All-Star rods. He makes his own custom rods. If you are in the market for one of the lightest weight Rods you'll ever pick up and they have the most sensitive tip I have ever felt in my life. Give Tim a call at 502-553-1101 and tell him Clyde Mills recommended his Custom Rods.

I was going to buy 2 All-Star Rods from him, until I picked up one of his Custom Rods he makes. I fell in love with them on the spot. can you imagine a grown man drooling over the thought of using something like this to fish with. I bought 2 of his Custom Rods, one for jig-n-pig fishing and 1 for worm fishing. Both are going to be 7' rods and they cost me $ 140.00 plus tax for each.

If'n you doubt me about the rods ask Eddie Goode, aka Fishin4kids about the rods. Eddie uses one of the rods as well.

Tim does not recommend using braided line on his rods, due to the braid could eat up the eyelets on the rods, which are more expensive than normal eyelets most rods have on them.

So give him a call and go check them out before you buy a Loomis Rod....It will be worth the trip.

I have 2 Bronzeback MH 7' Spinnerbait Series Loomis rigged with Curados and LOVE THEM. I throw EVERYTHING with them and have no problems with any bait from weightless FLukes to 1 oz jigs and Spinnerbaits, shallow or deep water. Smallies is what I chase the most and I would not trade them for any other rod around. I feel everything on the bottom and can easily tell grass from hard bottom to soft bottom with them. If you need the exact model, I will venture down the steps when able and get it for you if needed.
