Back in the 80's, I went to Toledo, Ohio to fish the walleye run in the Maumee River. I got there at daybreak and there were about 10 guys there already in this one section of the river. Within 30 minutes, the bank was lined shoulder to shoulder. If you caught a fish, and it crossed the guy beside you, he would "torch" your line. Everyone were smoking so they could burn your line. It wasn't hard to catch your limit because you could kick fish when you took a step. The banks were lined with inforcement guys so you had to make sure you didn't snag one. Most of these fish went from 15" to 20", but it wasn't much fun under these circustances.
