Copolmers

Just read an acticle from the June 2007 Bassmasters (I was doing some research) where Tom Ference (Gamma Technologies Product Line Manager) talks about the confusion with copolymer lines. He said that they still are a monofilment line (one strand) just has two or more ingredients in the mix. I guess I knew that? He even mentioned that most mono lines on the market are in fact copolymers. I thought it was interesting to know..he never mentioned any brand names. I never intentionally purchased a copolymer but I guess I'll give his line a try.

Don, give the P-LINE flouro-clear a try, you'll love the stuff. Ask Billy about it.....

I love the gamma line. I use it for everything, except my bottom bouncin' stuff (jig, worm - where I use Floro - just for the feel). I have never had a problem with it - casts well, lasts fairly long, and the strength is acutally stronger than labeled.

i started using the p-line cx premium a few months back. its a flouro coated copolymer. i like it a lot.

I think I'll give it a try...it's been Excel mono for me but I was interested in trying another line just to see.. Thanks

I have been using Gamma copolymer line now for past two seasons and am more than satisfied with it. I used P-line CXX for years prior and it is a good line also...but the Gamma does not get as much memory nor it is as stiff as the P-line...actually works very well on my spinning rods too which is something that P-line did not do. Mono is just what it means..line made from a single polymer...copolymer is made of two or more polymers...there is a definite difference in the two types of line in stretch, line strength and abrasive properties.

I have replaced almost all of my mono with copolymer and flouro. I really like the flouro for jigs,worms and carolina rigs. The copolymer works great with crankbaits, spinnerbaits ect. I think you will like the Gamma once you try it
