Rap, there is a nice ramp in hawesville. Not sure of the street name but you have to cross the rr tracks and go through the flood wall. (maybe the third street on the right if you're coming from the bridge and go straight at the light instead of turning left going up the hill).
I went sunday with a friend to cannelton to fish from the bank. Got there early (5:30ish) and set out 8 rods. Picked up a couple cigars before daylight then it really picked up for an hour or so. Fish were small, easily caught our two limits but only kept 15 or so because of the size. Lots of people and boats too so you need to get there EARLY to stake your claim. PLan on going again sat mornin (gotta sweet talk the wife).
Talked to the freindly conversation officerbefore we left. He was stating that this could be it for the bank fishermen on the Ky side
because of a hydroelectric plant is to be constructed on the site. From what I have researched they plan on starting construction in march of this year. He said that access will probably be restricted from that time on (NO fishing from the shore). We will see what pans out, but I have a bad feeling that fishing will be no more allowed from the bank. I don't believe that they could keep boaters away but who knows. We may be losing some of the best sauger/catfish/striper fishing from the bank in the state with this move
