Rootbeer bandits dont work. Especially for smallies in the river. Better try something else.

WHATT???????????!!!!!!!!!!! I've caught fish (good fish too) on rootbeer bandits - 200's and 300's in every lake I have fished in Kentucky. I have a picture in my profile of a 6 pounder caught late last fall on a rootbeer bandit on Ky lake. They are deadly on Nolin and Barren too. Also caught quite a few smaller bass paddling my way to the dam up the Dix river en route to catch some trout (they don't work for trout though).

I don't however like the hooks that come on bandits. I always change them right out of the box with some gam's. If you haven't tried them, they are definitely worth a shot. A very quality, affordable crankbait. I have an entire box devoted to them.

Didn't intend to sound rude - I get fired up over my bandits. I would have taken less offense had you insulted my wife. Lol.
