Has the story of how he got out of the draft. Plenty of other info about him too. Born in 1948, so not real young.

As you have pointed out many times Andrew, I don't believe everything I hear or read on the internet. However if that story is true I would have to rethink my stance on uncle Ted. Bill Clinton made president though and his was a draft dogger. One of the many reasons I didn't like that swinging d-?k.

Definitely worth checking out a few other sources to be sure. Thats the same story I heard a few places. Guess if you could find the original newspaper intervue that would cinch it.

btw, I believe **** Chaney holds the record for the largest number of deferments....

Is a draft dodger worse than a lying, cheating on your wife President just curious? Not that I agree with a draft dodger but young men are in a different frame of mind compared to a fully grown man who is married and sworn to his wife which should be leading by example as the President of the USA. How could Clinton hide it? He was running for public office he would if he could that's for sure look at how he lied about "never having sexual relations with that woman".

Of course he lied about it - I am not anti-hillary, but I think he was more scared of her than the american opinion. lol. I think matters of infedility fall into the category of personal issues - draft dodging is breaking you civil obligations. I truly think the issue should have been more between Hillary and Bill - not our concern. I would never do that myself, but I am not passing judgement on those who have - I would be disliking too many men and women. I applaud both of them for working through it and still being married! In my opinion it had no effect on how he ran the country. Every time this is brought up, it really gets to me. Yeah, he had a little something on the side, he did wonders for our county in terms of fiscal/economic issues. At least he did not get us in a War (aka either Bush), at least Sr. had enough sense to get us out before dragging our country down.
Oh yeah, Ted Nugent is an Idiot. Talk about your radical. As long as we are on the sex issue - he openly admits to having a sex addiction, and to Repeat Infelility - I don't think it is right to praise one, and put down one - just because one is a hardcore conservative.

Once again - no offense to anyone on here - just good political debates (there are two sides to the coin).

You are correct the fact that he did it was between him and his boss (ha ha) but the fact that he lied about it to the public made it my business (IMO) that showed his true colors and that was my point. Cheating is a moral issue and it's not illegal but it has to make you wonder how far we as a country have lowered our standards and become numb to anyone doing anything to anyone and even lying about it. It really disappointed me. No offense taken I just like the discussion!

Actually, what he got busted for was lying to congress about it. Not sure why it was anyone else's concern. I guess if you are going to give Bill a hard time about it, then you also gotta give Newt Gingrich a hard time too. I mean, all the time that Newt was hammering on Clinton for this, Newt had an affair of his own going on.

If you want to deleve further into the long term affects of all that, you would also have to consider that around the same time, Clinton ordered a missile attack on an Al Queda camp (not very successful). Rather than continue along those lines and finish the job, he was critisized for trying to divert attention from his personal affairs. Had we continued to persue Al Queda at that time, gotta wonder whether 9-11 would have happened.

Yep, 20-20 hindsight is a wonderful thing for a keyboard quarterback (lol!)

    Re: Ted Nugent for president....

Ted's politics are just like his music. Highly entertaining, but there's not much substance there if you take a closer look. In a 1977 interview with High Times magazine, he talked about avoiding the draft: "I got 30 days' notice of the physical," Nugent told them. "I ceased cleansing my body. Two weeks before the test I stopped eating food with nutritional value. A week before, I stopped going to the bathroom. I did it in my pants. My pants got crusted up." He doesn't dispute having said this, either. He later said he made all that up, but it still makes it hard for me to believe him when he tries to paint himself as some kind of great supporter of the military. I don't think he's any better, or any worse, than any other loud-mouthed entertainer. He recognizes that there's no such thing as bad publicity, so he'll say anything to get his name in print, whether he means it or not. I give him about as much credence as Michael Moore (on the left), or Anne Coulter (on the right). I don't think either one of them really means half of what they say, and neither does Ted.
