Been playing with the idea because this cold weather bites! I usually go every Spring but I never fish that far South. Do you guy's ever hit the Saltwater?

I'll be headed South for the Spring to fish Alligator Alley and the Big "O". March 6th-12th. I have a buddy that lives in Naples. We hook up every year and take a few days to fish together. "Good Times".
I'm just curious to see who else will be headed South. We will be Bass fishing the Eastern end of Alligator Alley and the South end of the Big "O".

Let's see, if'n any of you all going South for awhile. You can take me along as one of your dependants, I don't eat much, I won't need much room to sleep, mostly all I'll want to do is fish for about 20 hours a day.... Try'n to catch a biggun you know.....![]()
Was just in Ft. Lauderdale and went deep sea fishign three different days---4 hours each time. Very fun. Caught Snapper and King Mackerel---very good to eat!!! Got to help play about a 5-6 foot sailfish----God, they are strong!!!!
One day we took a tour of the Everglades and went all the way to Everglade City and back up I-75 torwards Naples on the way back to Lauderdale. Went across 75 where "Alligator Alley" once was. I am guessing you are talking about fishing in the Canal---looked awesome to me. Saw some bass boats and small jon boats out in them. I never did get to bass fish---didn't feel like messing with taking fishing rods and reels on the air plane. Looking back---wish I would have.
Saw plenty of Alligators in those canals!!! They said when the warm spring time air comes around--those gators get a little hungry---be careful!
Man I always wanted to fish the Fork. That spring rattletrap bite down there is suppose to be out of this world. Post how you did Andy when you get back, I'm sure you guys will get a couple of goodens.
YES!!! We are leaving exactly one week from today. Our annual trip to walk on water, kississimmi river, crooked lake. Got me a 9 pounder down there last year which is my largest to date. Maybe this year! Hurry up Feb.8 This next week is going to take forever to get done.
I'm heading down to the Punta Gorda area april or so. Does anyone know of some close inland bass waters to that area? Never ever fished in that state or in Saltwater.
We will be heading down to Sam Rayburn the last week of Febuary... Dan
i will be heading down first week of march for bass crappie hog hunting and some bowfishing. i cant wait for some warmer water seems like winter has lasted forever.
May want to fish another lake instead of Big "O". I've heard it's really down the past few years.
Thanks for all the replies everyone. Glad to see there are some of us breaking out of Ky for some warmer weather and hopefully that Wall Hanger. I was talking to a buddy today that went down to "O" 2 weeks ago and didn't do to well. He also said the water was very low and fishing was tough. Hopefully they get a little rain down there and the bite picks up a bit. I've been doing some reading here lately and most of what I have read says that early March is the BIG FISH time down in the "O". I HOPE!
I am sure that anyone who goes to Florida fishing will post their story on Fishin., so I'll be watching for the posts. Hope all trips are safe and memorable. Good luck to all and Set the Hook HARD!
They have been working on the levee on the east side at the Big O and keeping the water level low. No access to the lake in many areas.
