I'll be making a trip to Reelfoot Mar 30 and need some advice on where to stay. Is the best fishing in Upper Blue Basin,Buck or lower Blue? Any advice would be most helpfull.

Unless the weather gets very warm early, your best bet will be the upper basin in my opinion. It is much more shallow and stumpy but the grass banks and open water warm better and the fish bite sooner. I stay at Boyettes' or Reelfoot Lake Inn, both are clean and friendly. We should be there Aprill 16 for 3 days again this year. Good luck!
Ive heard that until the water really warms up the best crappie are in the deep water stumps but I dont know where on the lake that might be!
We stayed at Boyettes and ate at there restaraunt there. Excellent food.Unless the weather gets very warm early, your best bet will be the upper basin in my opinion. The western side of the lake has some water that is over 12feet. there are a lot of deep stumps.
I headed to reelfoot 4 10 08 , what color of jig is the crappie &bulegille is hiten on
we went down to Reelfoot on 3/27 - 3/30. Horrible weather that weekend - rain and wind - highs around 48. The only thing they were hitting for us were live minnows fished about 6-8 feeet around the stumps and trees. We each kept maybe 6-10 crappie per day
Some folks were having good luck in the deep water in the Lower Blue Basin - about 12 -16 feet, even deeper? I was told they were usin white or chart. jigs tipped with minnows, but I didn't try that approach.
best of luck!
