I also would love to follow Doug Strange around for a year. In-Fisherman Critical Concepts shows this man catching everything that swims from Muskie, Northern Pike, Walleye, Stripers, Smallies, Bucketmouths from Ice Fishing to Texas and everywhere in between I think. He did a show on the Cumberland River with Fred McClintock that makes me want to try the river for some 40 pound Striper action but not knowing the river is my drawback and I sure don't need any other problems right now. He also uses a Deep V boat similar to mine but his is the top of the line and mine is not, but he is a Deep V'r and I like that.

elnut, We seem to have alot in common, I also missed most of last year fishing due to a lung infection that I'm still fighting.
I also think it would be cool to hook up with Doug Stange and crew of in-fisherman for whatever swim's. A trip with Larry Dahlberg hunting big exotic fish would be neat also.
As far as my favorite fishing partner goe's that would be my son "Lowerider" the boy is ate-up with the fishin bug I wonder where that came from?
Oh! I also own one of those "Tin" deep V boats that you can come along in anytime you're around Cumberland, Lund 2025 ProVle.

Can't stand either one of these two guys, but you did come and visit me in the hospital a couple of months back so I will let you slide on "Ike". Looking forward to sharing some water time with you at Laurel or Dale chasing Smallies or those big Walleyes at Laurel. Smallies for the fight and Walleyes for the table (YUM YUM). Elnut
Come on elwood. You know that you would love to let out a big scream and do a little breakdancing after catching one of those big smallmouth with ol Ike LMBO. But we are definatly going to share some time on the water ( hopefully soon).

It would not be "Breakdancing" after catching one of those Big Smallies but more like "Broke Dancing" for the first time my big behind bust out a move on my front deck, there will be a lot of bones broken that is for sure. Not to mention having to replace my front deck due to broken plywood and rivets. Being big and un-coordinated does not go well. Cliff saw first hand me taking a header into Dale last winter and just about breaking my shoulder on the Holly Creek ramp (which was really his fault for I was chasing after a role of his line that rolled down the ramp into the water). 5am pitch dark, First step off the concrete into the water, algea, slip, 400 pounder hitting the concrete waist deep in 45 degree water, busted my left shoulder and that was the end of that perfectly good trip. He also has first hand account of me falling backwards off a 5 foot high fence, straight onto a large rock in my back, again, climbing a fence to fish a pond (yes we had permission), but that day trip did not last long either. Many more of those accounts to prove that I am a Broke Dancer not a Breakdancer. Looking forward to the water time, soon I hope. I feel a million times better today than the last couple of days and actually today is the best I have felt since October. Maybe, just maybe, I will turn the corner and get better. Wanting to chase some Stripers at the end of the month real bad for some table food. Cliff and I have an even deal, my boat, my tackle, I set out the 5 lines, man the trolling motor and all he has to do is fight all the fish, reel them into the net, then he gets to bring the net overboard. I clean them and keep them since he does not like fish. Basically, I am the cheapest guide he will ever see. Since I have landed exactly 2 Stripers in the past 3 years, (22 pounder at C Land in October 2006 and 18 pounder out of Barkley this past spring), my guess is it will be more guiding than catching but we will have to see. Hoping they will still be up in the creeks Lilly, Caney, Harmon and Difficulty areas to make it a little easier. We may even get some topwater action and there will always be a FNF rod in my boat past Thanksgiving of every year. 4 good 20 pound Stripers and a bunch of 4 and 5 lb Smallies on the fly would make a very good one day trip and planning on staying 4 days if I can get healthy by then.

Re: Who would you fish with??

I've fished with a bunch of notable pros as an am in the Top 100's back in the early 90s...L Nixon, W Daves, T Mann Jr, J Houston, R Howell, G Klein, M McClelland, K Cook, J Bitter, P Glusek.

A few of these guys aren't what they seem to be on camera, versus being in a boat with them off camera. I no longer have any respect for J Houston, and R Howell. Maybe they were isolated actions, I don't know. Most others were fun to fish with, and some were very respectful, even going out of their way. M McClelland hands down is the most respectful and likeable pro I've ever shared a boat with. G Klein, and P Glusek were right at the top as well.

Man, this is a tough one! For me, it's a tie...

    Homer Circle
    -OR-
Jessica Simpson on a hot day

    What am I, nuts?! It's a no-brainer!

Re: Who would you fish with??

Several people ran through my mind when I first read the question. I started with hotties like Jessica Simpson or the chick at the Sonic drive thru (trust me).

Then I thought, I bet ole Hank Jr would be cool. He likes to fish and have a good time...but I might end up in jail somehow.

Doug Stange was the first TV fisherman I thought of...he sure can put some monsters in the boat and many different species.

KVD would be my pro pick, I'd like to get him on Dale sometime. I think Mike Ike might get a little wet with the first fish he caught with me. Charlie Moore would be wet before he caught a thing.

My final answer is: An Undercover Game Warden.

Then bring on all the inconsiderate people I normally see when I fish. I could keep them busy all day, from the boat ramp to the backs of the creeks.

Maybe they could raffle off "A day on the lake with a Game Warden", I think it would raise them a lot of money. I would buy the first hundred chances.

I am with you RayP on the Charlie Moore idea of him getting wet before he caught a thing. I think they should rename his show to "Beat the Hell out of Charlie Moore" instead of "Beat Charlie Moore". I have 2 real nice FNF rods that would fit real nice around his behind, the G Loomis for the more switching whipping and the All Pro for the 2x4 bringing the Lumber whippings. Charlie ranks below Ike on my list and even my ex-wife is just above those two on the same list. Sad to say I would rather spend the day in the boat with my ex versus Charlie or Ike. To be honest, I would have to drown myself if any of the 3 stepped into my boat, just to get away from the experience.

Re: Who would you fish with??

What a great thread. It has brought back memories for me. I would love to fish with my all time favorite fishing buddy again. It would be me brother who killed himself back in 79. We loved to wade streams for smallmouth together. I still wade them but now it's with my 9 yr old son. My second choice would be my partner at Smack Tackle. Todd has been my best friend for 17 yrs or so and has filled the void in my life left by my brothers death. He loves to fish for all kinds of fish and is just about as goofy as I am when it comes to fishing. As far as famous people, I have to go with Al Lindner first. Here is a guy who started a couple of companies and made them go. I would love to talk with him about how he did it. He is a fisherman that loves to catch fish, any fish. He gets excited even if it is a drum or a red horse sucker. I watched him catch a carp below the dam at Cumberland and I could hear the laughing from shore as the other two guys were catching hawg stripers. He came over and talked with us even though they were in the middle of filming a show. My second choice would be KVD. He is a great guy and a great, if not the greatest, bass fisherman to jack a jaw. He loves those smallies and knows how to catch um up north. If I could fit another guy in the boat it would have to be Larry Dahlberg. I would love to catch some of those monsters around the world. Can you imagine the enthusiasm there would be in that boat with Larry, Al, and KVD? WOW!

Stacey King. I don't know much about the guy, only seen him on TV twice, but he seems like a pretty laid back kinda good ol' boy, someone who'd be fun to fish with. Plus he seems to specialize in jig fishing, which I'm currently concentrating on. Yes, KVD rules, but that run-and-gun fishing just isn't my style.
