Man are you talking about the D & L company from london. 95 % of their products are copies. The spinner bait they had was a sloan imitation. Their advantage is a copy fom mann's stone jig .Cumberland craw is a knock off from Cumberland pro lures. No wait they where the first to have the color oops so yea ONE original Idea.... Their shakey heads are copies of reaction innovations. I have seen the guy who owns the company at Backwaters getting baits so he can copy them . Bet his new football jig is either an omega or a jewel bait copy. As for the extreme I would like to see one . Bet it is a copy !!!!!

Copy or no copy they're a good product. Quality skirts, paint, and hooks. I like they're original jigs and the football heads are sweet.

jbyrd, if they are all copies, I sure have a hard time finding a jig I like as much as the D&L. The Advantage jig is a copy of the stone jig???? I'm having trouble following you brother.

I am sorry, that Cumberland Craw is not their original. Go to; www.lastcastbait.com and check out their summer craw, halloween or what ever they call it. They have had that color for over 5 years.

In the world of fishing lures does it matter who copies who? That's been the way of that business for years. If I can find a good Kentucky owned company to do business with the I'm all for it. Furthermore, if they are local that's even better.

That's my thoughts as well. I love their jigs and the smalljaws like their Cumberland craw.

If you are looking for guality baits made localy, southern Indiana, check out Team Supreme Tackle dot.com. I have been using their baits for about four years and have gotten to the point that is about all I will throw.

I've used D&L products for the past few years. Best jig you can use. The Advantage Jig is nothing like Mann's stone jig. As far as copying goes Cumberland Pro has done its fair share of copying D&L products and colors. D&L makes one heck of a jig.

If you guys are looking for a local company that makes jigs, shakey heads, and buzzbaits you might want to try Legal Limit Lures, makes a great product, and they still are pretty inexpensive. I have used them, and they are a great product. Check his website out, and order a couple, the guys name is Jeff, super guy to deal with.

I'll second that----especially his football head jigs. They just look great.

But, I will say that D&L also makes some nice jigs. D&L has that "baby advantage" I think. The one that comes in 3/16 and 5/16. I really like those and I realy like that Cumberland craw color. I don't care who came up with it.

It's kind of like any other bait out there. Most companies have a few nice products and some not so nice. I pick what I like or who I feel makes the best product.
LOL---just ask Jeff at Legallimits---I think I now have about 50 or so jigs from him.
Finding a "local" that makes a great product is good. I consider anybody from KY a "local" and I always try and buy from them first.

Yep, I have to agree Jeff made me some special request colors and hook combinations a few years ago. I also purchased a spinnerbait or two from him...very accommodating man

    Re: D&L jigs

I have been following this post pretty close. I love Jigs, but don't have near the background fishing them as most of you - I have only been concentrating on them the last two years. I have used some of the last cast stuff, but not any of the D&L, but they do look similar - they also look similar to the other 100 or so custom and manufactured jigs I have seen. I don't think it matters who copied who, as long as they are catching me fish - I don't care if it was bought at Wal-Mart or the guy down the street made them for me. Actually I did have the guy down the street take a close look at some of the D&L color combos to make me a few jigs. I almost prefer having jigs made for me- I seem to have a little more confidence fishing something I had a part in making. I plan on spending next winter learning how to make my own - and I will be copying all kinds of stuff.
