One of my favorites is a 5 inch broke back red fin. Its chrome with a red fin on both sides. My boss was telling me bout it and decided to get one. Caught many of fish on it. Dont remeber who makes it believe Rapalla.

Luckycraft pointers rule; especially the 78 if you get on them. I throw them on a chronarch mg50 with 10# gamma FC. Paired with a loomis MBR782, I could fish the rig all season long if the fish let me

I have a few other brands but they don't cast as well as a pointer and I've not gotten on the fish with the others like the 78's.

The color would relate to water clarity and cloud cover. My belief is that you need about 3ft of visibiltiy to make a jerkbait effective.

What else? Pointers...... The truth is I have caught a few on the pointers at different times of the year, but I really can't wait to pull a bandit over a stump lined creek ledge!!

pointers are worth the $, catchin a few on em already . Clear water is where I like to fish em, nishiki is what I like (clown)
8 lb P line, almost always on a spinning rod med. action. I like steep rock banks but also throw around GRASS and deeper docks.

It was either the first week or the second week in June last year. I know you are thinking WOW June but it seriously was. We were down there on a family vacation and several mornings in a row at daybreak till about 8 or 9 o'clock I had a decent to real good topwater bite going. Two mornings in a row I was in GOOD jumps over deep water with bass busting threadfin. When I would unhook one they were puking threadfins on the deck. Smallmouth, Largemouth and some magnum football Spots. I was litterally dancing in the boat. Another family was with us and I couldn't get my buddy up to go, LOL. There is a pic of a 5.2 lb smalljaw on the picture gallery of this site which was the best fish I caught that week, released of course. It was a blast, those jumps that are well within your casting distance and all around the boat, you know the kind, man what fun.

lucky craft staysee - original size and the 90. use the gold black back in the original and the american shad / chart shad in the 90 series. both fished on 8# line with spinning rod (medium action). the smaller one is good for spots (esp the dirty water freq seen in spring on the lakes i fish) while the 90 in american shad catches all comers (esp when clear). bonus tip, the american shad staysee 90 has caught more springtime stripers than any of my other baits. you want to talk about fun, 10-15# stripers on 8# med action spinning rod!!!! what a blast!

I've got a couple of the Am. Shad Staysee's. I have only fished them a few times. I bet Stripers on a spinning rod would be fun!
Now, would the weather and water get right to use them---please!

from now through end of march -> anytime is right. granted with really dirty water they are less effective but it is amazing how fish can find and hammer these dudes. good luck!
