We have a guide named Dan White booked for the two mornings, but we are staying at an RV camp site (K-land? or some such place with the corps of eng.) which is right near a hatchery. I suspect some of you are familiar with the area and know what's what this time of year. With all this said, can someone tell me what/where we should fish during the time we are not on the boat? I am so lame I need to know what species is best and what to use to catch them too if that is possible? On the bright side I DO have ambition, a couple new rods and reels, and a desire to learn Thanks for any help anyone can be. Stay safe and keep your heads down.

You can fish from the bank near the dam but if you are in a wheel chair you may have a problem. Be sure to have a trout stamp. I buy our sportsmans license which includes all the fishing stamps so I had not noticed that the State passed a Trout Stamp Law for below the dam at Cumberland. NO MATTER what you fish for you MUST have a trout stamp.
Sauger are ON right now and bigtime. Crankbaits, and jigs with twister tails tipped with minnows are very good. Walleye will be moving in soon and they shocked up a 14 pounder a couple weeks ago. You can get down the boat ramp and may be able to fish there or just off the ramp with some help.
If you need a place to stay and camp Foggy Bottom Camp Ground may be more to your liking than the COE Campground, and less expensive. It is also below the dam on Kaufman Road, off the old Ferry Road.
