    Re: Dem Debate

These kind of stats are as misleading as some of the debate facts and figures. Who can prove or disprove these figures? It's humor mixed with facts. Don't believe everything I hear and dang sure don't believe everything I read!
Oh, I believe he was the first President to call for the start your engines at a Nascar race. That means as much to me as some of the poo poo from Kelly whatchamacallit...

    Re: Dem Debate

Republicans refuse to admit that they elected a dud. I guess if an actual turd would have been labeled a republican and elected - they would still be arguing that it really doesn't stink - it is just not the smell we are used to.

There are anit-Democrat posts on here left and right - most of which have very little significance or merrit. However, when someone posts something like this (most of which is factual - although not all) it is disregarded as "sewage." It was intended to be entertaining - but in the words of the great Homer Simpson (our president's intellectual equal) "It's funny 'cause it's true."

Yep, thats why the ;-) on the title. Figured this thread needed some entertainment.

I agree, the sad thing is that much of that is true. The saddest part is how this president has divided the country.

I'll pass on the Homer Simpson quotes, but I will say perception is reality. You perceive most of that sewage to be true, I perceive it for what the lion's share of it is. Drivel, cut and pasted from a far left wing zealot's web site.

We Republicans elected a dud? Now that would hurt if it weren't coming from the party that is still in denial over Bill Clinton.

Wanna talk electing a turd? Take a look at the far left side of the aisle, that's where it smells bad to me. About a zillion of you blind folks are poised to elect the next substance challenged Jimmy Carter. Yep. Hands across the sea, let's be the good guys for a change.

Let's talk after 4 years of terrorists killing Americans and pushing us around while Barack establishes dialogue and asks them to be nice. We'll see if you wish we had a 'dud' back at the helm. Let's see how you feel when your taxes go up almost immediately.

They won't be taxing us middle class people right? I'll bet you a twelver of your favorite beverage your taxes increase within the first year if the Dems get the presidency. Want some?

You're prolly too young to remember the Carter years when mortgage rates were in the double digits, the economy was in shambles, and Iran kept American hostages for 444 days. Jimmy Carter did jack about it except talk. In fact ole Jimmy talked while middle eastern terrorists did pretty much whatever they wanted whenever they wanted. He finally authorized the ill fated helicopter hostage rescue mission more a full YEAR after Iran took them.

Ronald Reagan took office and the hostages were released immediately. Why do suppose that was? Maybe the ayahtolla realized he wouldn't be dealing with a candy ass anymore and decided he'd rather not have to try and dislodge the boot stuck in his khafka. BTW years of Democrat tax and spend was reigned in and the economy turned itself around shortly thereafter.

I know, I'm just an old middle aged wacko living in the past. Right? We shall see.

So which is worse, a "tax and spend" liberal or a borrow and spend conservative?

    Beginings of Iran/Contra may be??

DH, I do agree with you about Carter, I don't think he did that good a job as pres. Clinton had faults too, as they all do. Over all, I don't think he did as bad a job as some of you conservatives suggest.

    Re: Dem Debate

So who do you guy's think gave the best performance? I think Hillary showed more "hangy down things" than Obama. He is so slick and greasy it's scary. You cannot nail him down on anything. But I guess as long as he is a good speaker he will do a great job huh? Look how many times he just gets a pass at the questions. The real tough questions go to Hillary first and then he says I agree with her?? Come on! Look at how Louis Farrakhan endorses Obama and then even though he doesn't agree with his opinions or statements about other religions he can't man up and flat out refuse his support! Farrakhan is a racist in the highest order why would Obama not instantly distance himslef from this man? But then again he is for "change".
Tim Russert nailed these two last night and it was great.

Obama has stated on several occassions that he does not support Farrakhan and does not agree with his positions.

    Re: Dem Debate

"I decry racism and anti-Semitism in every form and strongly condemn the anti-Semitic statements made by Minister Farrakhan," Obama said in the statement. "I assume that Trumpet Magazine made its own decision to honor Farrakhan based on his efforts to rehabilitate ex-offenders, but it is not a decision with which I agree." A few other comments along those lines were said by Obama and are reported on a number of sites.

I did not watch the debates, so really cannot comment on them.

    Re: Dem Debate

What surprised me and the Moderators of the debate was that he would not firmly say that I do not want his support. He danced around it and smiled and leaned toward what he should say. I guess I look at race issues like this....what would happen if a radical, racist, middle aged white guy who was the head of a large organization proclaimed he now supported McCain? I am confident two things would happen firstly, the liberal media would take this and run with it and secondly, he would denounce the support because of the backlash from the offended religions. Just seems like a double standard to me. I believe (hope) this will come up again during the race to the Whitehouse.

Put the koolaid down and for once in your life pay attention to this word Obama used when asked about farrakhan.

    de·nounce (d-nouns)
    tr.v. de·nounced, de·nounc·ing, de·nounc·es
    1. To condemn openly as being evil or reprehensible. See Synonyms at criticize.
    2. To accuse formally.
    3. To give formal announcement of the ending of (a treaty).

Now he used that word probably 5 times so do you think he wants his support? I sure in the hell don't think so. Better get used to Obama since he'll be the next president......BTW he did used the word reject also.....You and others here need to watch something besides the fix news network for a change lord knows ya'll need it.........

    Re: Dem Debate

I watched the debate and it took the Moderator several attempts to get a half hearted response from him. (Roger Clemens was more convincing and he is lying as well). He is wrong for this country and to think otherwise is crazy. What is it about him that you like? Is it because he is the best that the Dems have to offer or were you pulling for him from the start? I'm not going to attack your opinions I just want to know what you guys see in him. I'm curious?
