    Chime in.....

Guys the new regs post has kinda started something. Will everybody give their opinion and if this is viable will get some organization to see if we really can make a difference. Maybe Jim Dicken can help us with this worthy cause seeing he's a celebrity and all. Strader show. traveling the world, FGHP ect. ect. Let's just see how many would want to be involved????

This would be an easy thing to do if enough fishermen would support a minimum limit change. It is a "win-win situation" for bass fishermen for both Dale and Cumberland. No one looses in this effort. Can someone tell me the disadvantages of growing trophy size fish? When fishing Dale, how fun is it to catch those big SM, and how good does it feel to release a great fish like that. I know one thing, there is not a better feeling for me unless it has something to do with my family. I support this effort to the fullest.

Awesome. If we get enough I'll contact Frankfort and ask what our next move should be.

Come on Guys! The silence is deafing. Give us you thoughts...advantages or disadvantages. This a great chance to make a difference in the quality of fish you enjoy catching. One of the things I had to get use to was being able to put myself on good fish most every time I fish Dale. I can't say that about any other lake except maybe KY Lake. Lets eat bluegill and crappie and lets enjoy the thrill of catching and releasing the big bass.

I run a bait shop so I could probally get some of my customers to sign petitions and stuff like that, if we could get some rule changes that we would like to see done in writing. I mean really to get some stuff done to help some of these lakes that are nicknamed Dead Seas. I also think that state regs need to increase to cut down on the confusion on some lakes. I dont kow how many times my grandpa would throw 9in crappie in the livewell when we would go to Cland rather then green. The regs on the Cland river below the dam I have lots of people asking about them and I dont blame them it gets confusing to me.

A limit on size, and bag on white bass, they are not good eating any way. barbless hooks on cumberland river, or at least single hook baits. One fish limit on stripers from august till november, they dont release well, and I have seen one heck of a lot of floaters there during the summer months, that were not legal size, released , and then they died. culling? outlawed. In a lot of lakes in minnesota, you catch it you keep it or put it back right away. And encouage folks to use the slot limit, it wont work if you keep putting back the runts, that has been proven in several states.

Mark, I don't get to fish the big C or Dale that often, but love the fact of growing a trophy fishery. I'll help any way I can...heck maybe one day get a 12in. size limit on my sauger down on the river...Chuck

    Re: Chime in.....

I would like to see some slot limits on Barren and Green for L.M. and S.M. To be honest, I like to occassionally like to keep a bass to eat. They're just good. However, I probably released 90% or more of what I caught last year. My daughter couldn't believe it!
Anyway, I would like to see the quality of the fisheries in my area improve and Barren is already pretty good.
I also would like to see the size limit on crappie be at least 10". You don't have much at 9". You can read a newspaper through a 9" white crappie. I think that a 10" limit would cut down on the numbers of folks limiting out and likely improve the overall quality of the fishery.
I want my son to understand why Dad gets so jacked up about a trip to the lake.
Anyway, if there is some kind of effort to make changes to any regulations that I feel like are equitable to all fishermen and improve the quality of the fisheries, count me in!

You are right, there should be a 12 inch size limit on those Sauger, I can't understand why people will keep those 5 inch cigars, lol.
