Anyone been to Beaver yet this year?
The dock tournaments start this weekend. I doubt they will have very many boats in it. I am going to fish it pretty hard this year. Tournaments are every weekend. Are you interested in fishing them? I'm going to get billy to fish one with me this year too. Maybe we could get the dock to have a father/son tournament or just tell everyone and get one going ourselves. I only had 3 tournaments down there last year. That won't happen this year.
would like some more info, times, price etc. thanks

Try this.
Are this years tourneys not grassmasters? 30 tournaments with the classic is a busy schedule for Beaver. I'll have to fish a few of those.

I don't know about the Grassmasters since I didn't fish but 3 of them last year. 30 does seem like alot but that's every weekend. Grassmasters only fished every other weekend. This year should be a pretty good turn out since the Pond Hoppers tournaments have shut down for the 2008 schedule. Hope to break my 7.1 pound bass record there again.
Haveing run grassmasters last year I am not doing so this yr. do to health reasons. It is to my understanding that the dock tournys are going as grassmasters. You can get the info. from the site given by Wormin. I was told the schedule may be reduced so you might check with the dock on that.
Good luck to all the old and new members out there. Haven't been out much this winter but can tell you we had ice half way to the dam yesterday morning which has since thawed . Good luck and good fishing this year all.
I talked Allen earlier he's going to help the guys at the dock some.Haveing run grassmasters last year I am not doing so this yr. do to health reasons. he said that the schedule was reduced down. and I believe he told me march 15th was the first one.
I have never been to beaver lake. How is the fishing there? Is it idle speed or trolling motor? How big of a lake is it?
Beautiful lake and nothing like others around here. Shallow with max depth at dam around 40-50 feet. Grassey banks, permanent docks(for flippin) rocky banks. It has just about what ever you want to fish. I think it is 130-150 acres, and as far as horse power goes, it's 10hp or less. I have a 18' Stratos so I have to use trolling motor only. Can operate big motor to load and unload.
The fishing is almost unbelievable! It's not uncommon to catch 20-50 bass during a tournament. The big question is finding that KEEPER. They have a 15 inch limit and sometimes that is very difficult to overcome. I live 5 miles from Herrington but will drive the 30 miles to fish Beaver. The people at the dock are 1st class, also the people that I have met while fishing are all very nice. My big fish so far is 7.1 pounds and several between 5-6 pounds. Hope to see you all on the water!
march 15th is the first one hours are 10am-4pm
I posted this same on another post, but page 37 of the new Regs book reads that you can Idle speed at Beaver. Not true accoding to Frankfort agent. He agrees with me in that the wording says we can but he says we can't and the real 100% regs are listed in Frankfort and we can get a copy but the "Free" copies you get at Wally World are not the real stuff. Said these are in Laymons (sp) terms for idiots like me. Good Luck, fished Beaver about 6 times, mostly after the spawn, had good success skipping flukes under the many docks and white rats or frogs fished over the scum.
