Lake Barkely help

Looking to go to Barkley in April to catch some crappie. When do you guys thank the best time in April would be to go.

Lots of good info in past threads - search "Lake Barkley" and "crappie" and you'll find lots of suggestions.

It all depends on the weather, as usual. Keep in mind that there's a strong population of Black Crappie, far more abundant than the White Crappie. With that being said, they spawn a lot sooner, so I'd be thinking more along the lines of mid to late March...maybe the first week of April at the latest...

Seems like March 20th-25th I've had my best luck. I'd guess in theory that april 1 might be ideal but seems like every year I was down at that time a cold front came through that messed up the spawn. On both KYL and Barkley I've found the eak spawn to be about over by April 10th on both.
