    Fishin.com King Salmon Trip

Is anyone interested in a Trip to Alaska for King Salmon in Late May or Early June?
I can take up to 12 people in 2 cabins. Cost is $745 per person. That is a reduction in price of $50.00 ...
NOW here is what is included in that.
3 Guided Fishing Trips for Salmon on the Kenai and Kasilof rivers.
One Week in a Cabin ON the Kenai River.
I can currently arrange flights through Priceline for around $600.00 and you will need a rental care for each 4 people. Cost is around $95 per person. Add in food and gasoline and you can go for around $1600.00
I need to know in 30 days if you want to take this trip in order to arrange the airfare at the prices indicated.
You will fly into Anchorage Alaska. Drive to Soldotna where the lodge is located. Stay Saturday to Saturday. There is a Full Freezer for each cabin. Most likely you will send home at least 100 pounds of Fresh Salmon.
No tackle is necessary, but you can bring some of your own. Guides have tackle and the lodge has tackle for rent on the river.

Jim is putting it together on his own.

Sounds interesting in that I recently retired. Have to check with the "boss" at home. This would be on top of a New Orleans redfish trip at about the same if not higher price I'm taking at the end of April on top of a week at Barkley crappie fishing 2nd week of April. Wish me luck!!!

Well here is a sales point..
Salmon from the Ocean / River is delicious. It ain't your Supermarket Ranched and dyed Salmon..
King Salmon are around 40 pounds on the Kenai on Average.
If you catch your limit each day you should come home with 6 fish minimum.
That is 240 Gross if they are average. Trimmed and packed that is around 190 or 200 pounds of salmon. Tell your wife you will have Friday Dinner covered for at least 2 years and plenty left over for friends and family to make a contribution.. We can even add on a Halibut Trip if you want and that is going to be around 50 more pounds. Stop at get some King Crab to add on .. and well you got the best seafood you will ever have and a GREAT trip. Heck bring the wife and double up on what you bring home. The Cabins are fisherman cabins. NOT Luxurious. Bed and a Stove and a Bathroom. Bed is comfy, but no TV or other amenities. Plenty to see, nature wise. Golf Course down the road.. see www.alaska-golf.com for those days you finish fishing early. MIGHT have computer access in the office or nearby with Wifi.

I didn't need any other sales points. The wife says OK and I'm ready to sign on. Could you PM me with what exactly I would need to pack? Do you know dates yet?

Well it is a bit cool in May.. can get into the 70's but normally 40 to 60 degrees is the norm. Layering is the way to go. Sweat Shirt and a Jacket. Frogg Toggs is a great way to go. They are wind proof and rain proof is the weather changes. It can in Alaska fairly fast.
Pants maybe with a Fleece Lining. You can bring a rod and reel if you want but the lodge has equipment to rent that will do the job. Might want to bring a box for some tackle. Luhr Jensen Quikfish are the ticket most of the time, and some of the guys use a special rig with a spinner on it and a sack of salmon eggs. Catches trophy Rainbows AND Salmon. We can clean your fish if you catch them at the lodge, but do NOT leave any fish laying around. THERE ARE BEARS in the area. The river attracts them when the Salmon are running. Come and get me and I will clean the fish and return the carcass to the river. (Alaska law requires the return of the carcass to the river.. long explanation but it helps the Eco System.)
Hiking Boots are good, some tennis shoes and if you want to go out to dinner then dress TENNIS Shoes are fine in most places.
There is a Golf Course right down the road.
IF you come alone the cost is higher. You have to have a car to get around. The lodge is 15 miles from the Salmon Guide Meeting place and about 50 to Homer for Halibut Fishing.
If you need tackle there is a great store in town. There is a video on FGHP.com of the Tackle Store.
    Any other Questions??

WOW...wish I had the money, I was stationed in Anchorage for 3 years, & the Kenai & Kasilof rivers bring back many fond memories. My wife actually hooked into about a 45lbs+ king salmon on her 3rd cast in her LIFE on the Kasilof. I was about 20 yards away from her in chest waders, and just handed her a pole, not thinking she would actually hook anything. So as her line is zipping out into the river, I'm trying to talk her through adjusting her drag....as I'm running to her. I got there just in time to watch this nice king salmon come up out of the water at least 100 yards from us, and the line to go slack!! Steelhead fishing on Kasilof is excellent too.

What you are saying about the freshness of the fish is so true. I can't even order salmon in a restaurant back down here now, because we had so much fresh smoked salmon up there!!! Anyone who has never fished up there, give it a shot....what a great time. The last halibut charter I went on up there, we had 6 people and the smallest we kept was 40lbs. The biggest was about 130. The average was probably about 65lbs. Each one of us came home with a minimum of 100lbs boned out, filleted halibut. That was on a 2 day charter.
