If you read on page 37 of the new boating and fishing regs book that you can get free at any wally world, it has some odd wording about Beaver Lake plus some others that I don't fish, in that it reads you can use any size motor as long as you are not basically "waking". I called Frankfort to double check for I always thought Beaver Lake in Lawrenceburg was 10HP max. The officer said it is 10HP max and I was right in that the wording does read I can idle my big motor which is a 90 by the way. I am going to try it and if they say anything then whip out the book and play dumb even though I know differently. The officer also told me that these "Free" regs books were not the real 100% regulations, they were simplified in Laymans (sp) terms for idiots like me. For a true more wordy regs book, he says you have to get them from Frankfort. Funny how I thought this was the bible of regs for the past 5 years to find out now it is not. There are several lakes besides Beaver listed under this "questionable wording", so my deal is if you fish them then you may try and challenge them. If I do, I will. Too much trolling time to move from the Launch ramp at Beaver to the last cut on the right in the back. This is why I don't fish this lake more and all they are doing is not getting my $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ for their local economy.
