The last time I fished the lake was a couple of years ago and put in before daylight. Nobody around so I put her on full plane all the way back to the last cut. When I took out the marina employee met me at the top of the ramp and said they had it on video of me doing this and the next time they would call the game warden to show him the video to ticket me. I told him that it was funny how all day long I got swamped by pontoons with their 9.9 motors but nothing was said to them. I sure do believe it is still the law that when passing another boat engaged in fishing you are supposed to idle, not full 9.9 plane that puts out a wake twice the size of my boat at top speed and that is a Deep V boat at that. He said the "Locals" that had their own docks know the rules and they "All Follow Them", basically calling me a liar to my face for I never saw a pontoon launch whenever I was on the lake, so I figured most of the swampers were "Locals". I told him he was full of crap(not the exact word I used) and that I would not be back and I have not. MSD was dead on when he said it turned into a big private lake instead of a public lake. Sad part is that there is some really big fish in this lake and it is one of the closest ones to Georgetown that I have a shot of a BIG greenfish. Hens and I caught them with skipping flukes under the docks the last time and I hit them pretty good the trip before with a White Rat, that I bought in the local marina shop, on top of the slop and spinnerbaits paralleling the outer edges of the slop. Keep on running off the "Non-Locals" and see where the Marina owners end up for I have never seen a pontoon boat flipping and pitching trying to catch a bass. I would bet money that more money is spent on "Tackle and Supplies" by us fisherman in fishing boats than the "Local Pontooners".
