    The 2 part epoxy that msg recommended worked good for me. I used it 2 yrs ago and still don't have any problems

    liquid electrical tape, like what Starbrite makes, then maybe some heat shrink or electrical tape to keep it protected from abrasion. If its submerged like on trolling motor, I'd definitely use more than just tape. scuff up the surrounding cable jacket slightly so whatever sealant/adhesive you chose will adhere well.
