Early morning cold, and rainy. Water was not to stained, about 8" visibility, was very cold 43 degrees, and warmest i found was 45 degrees. Fished main and secondary points to 30' deep with jigs, with not even a nibble, fished bluff walls with a suspending jerkbait, nothing. Tried drop shotting the points nothing. Finally after the sun came up fished a main lake cove, and caught one small 12 or 13 inch bass, it was so white it looked like a crappie, and it was solid red around its mouth, it hit a suspending jerkbait after i let it sit for about 10 seconds. It looked as though there was a Renegade tournament going on, had a couple of them come flying in and pull in front of me and fish the water i was getting ready to fish, wonderful examples of courtious tournament fisherman, saw the same guy do it to another guy fishing. Does anyone know what it took to win that tournament. Overall a pretty decent day, with the water so far down, i marked a ton of spots with the gps that should be decent this summer. It was nice just to be on the water, even though we didnt catch much.
