This time of year the Hybrids are going to be coming off of their winter areas, which are generally open water areas and be coming into spring staging areas adjacent to shallow water. They may also be attempting to "run" into the headwaters of the lakes in a futile attempt to spawn *they are infertile*. They are also very reliant to water levels this time of year as well. A warm rain will push them into the flooded brush to feed on shad, but a cold sunny day will put them back deep.
I would throw small spoons or Ratltraps into the mouths of small, main lake coves and creeks and find an area that produces, then work that area thourghly. Hope this helps.
