I have fished both in times past and both are ran well and both have a good bunch of guys that fish. I prefer the three fish tournament because in my opinion there is more skill involved bringing in three keeper fish compared to one. That is my take on it but we all have our preferences thats why there are two to choose from on fridays. I am looking forward for all of the tournaments to get going on Taylorsville. Its been a long ,cold , wet winter...........Jarrod

Re: ky river or tayorsville tourns?

    HEY NOW!

I am confused is it because of the tournament layout being one big bass it takes less skill to catch that one 3 or 4 pound fish?
or could it be that the people who fish Friday Night Open Big Bass Tournaments have less fishing skills and know that because they are at a skill disadvantage to the other superior fishermen on Friday night they are relagated to fishing a big bass tournament?
or could it be that the people that fish Friday Night Open Big Bass Tournaments simply do not care about skills, primetime, glitz and glamour and everything else that it has tried to been made into and just want to know that at the end of the night they are going get to clap, yell, hoop and holler, pat sombody on the back, shake somebodies hand, talk a little smack with all there buddies and if a little money is won heck somebody had to do it!
So if in anyones eyes the tournament and the people that fish it having less skill please show up on any friday night between May 16th and September 5th in the hours of 8 p.m. till 12 midnight and tell it to the fishermen that choose to fish worry free from somebody saying they don't have the skills to fish with the big boys.
(I have been telling Jerry Abrams he didn't have any skills for years I guess the cat is out of the bag now!)

Stop taking yourselves so seriously boys life is to short to worry about who's got skills and who don't in a fishing tournament. Just be glad you can get up every morning get dressed, play with your kids, walk, talk and pay $4.00 a gallon for a tank of gas.

...And keep off my little buddy Flippinstick

Re: ky river or tayorsville tourns?

nobody said that the guys fishing the big fish tournament didn't have or wasn't as skilled as the ones fishing the three fish tourn.

all we are saying is that it takes more skill to catch numbers of keepers at t-ville. sometimes it's hard enough to catch one keeper there let alone 3 or 5 or what ever the limit of the tournament that you choose to fish. their certainly are enough to choose from. Our opinon was that for the one fish tourn. you basically are going fishing hoping for a big bite.

I don't think that their are very many of them fishing the tourn. using a certain lure or bigger than normal lure with the intentions of sacrificing numbers of bites or fish caught because it's a big fish bait! Just to get the big ones.

We weren't even pickng on flippinstick. we wouldn't have said anything about the friday night big fish tourn if he hadn't said that the 3 fish was a waste of time.

my first impression when he said that was that he thought he was a pro. or that he was better than the guys fishing the 3 fish tourn. thats why I asked why he said it was a waste of time.

Now I don't think that he meant it that way. he was just trying to get more people to fish his tourn.

The bottom line is their isn't anybody on here or fishing these tournaments pros. If we were than we wouldn't have time to be on this website. I'm sure both tournments have good guys fishing them and that both are ran good.
