Does anybody have a fishing report they would like to share on Lake Nolin? I am heading up there this weekend to fish sat-sun. I would like to know the water conditions as well. Thanks in advance fellas!
I talked to a guide that says the water is just above winter pool and quite stained. He also told me to not let that stop me from coming up there and fishing. He said the fishing has actually been pretty good on crankbaits and jigs. He said he would like to throw a jerk-bait, but the water is just too stained.
Anybody else have any other info?
Nolin is actually 5 feet from summer pool. I was there on 3/1 and at that time it was a couple feet above winter pool. The water was close to 44 degrees and stained to muddy pretty much everywhere. Only had one small fish hit a crankbait.
I was there yesterday and caught nothing. I talked to 5 others. one caught 1 lm and 1 caught 1 white bass. They are trying to drop the lake 2ft. per day in order to install a new dock at the state park ramp. The water looked like chocolate milk.
DA
48 degree water temp.

Thanks greenriverman!
I can't give you any fishing report because I didn't get to fish but I will concur with the water being the color of chocolate milk (very heavily stained) around Moudadear.
I serviced my boat yesterday (greased, oilded, checked, etc) and thought today would be a good day on the water even if the fish weren't biting. I arrived at Moudadear ramp about first light (7:15), put all the stuff in the boat, etc. then got back in the Van to go to the ramp and the Van wouldn't start. I was told it might be the fuel pump and to bang on the gas tank, but instead I slammmed the hood down a couple of times and it started. I didn't want to take a chance of shutting it off and it not starting again so I went home, unloaded the boat and took the Van to shop.
So close and yet so far. For whatever reason, God just didn't want me on the water today so I thanked Him and I'll take a nice nap instead.![]()

According to the Corps website the lake has been rising for the past few days and is less than 5 feet from summer pool.
